As a sign of Dr. Viterbo’s work in microsurgical plastic surgery gaining worldwide momentum, Acontece Magazine recently recognized him for being the world’s first surgeon to have discovered the nerve grafting procedure to reverse prostate-related erectile dysfunction.
“It’s always a pleasure when one gets recognized for his or her work,” Dr. Fausto Viterbo says in reaction to the publication. “But it’s also extremely gratifying to be recognized for work that goes towards the overall benefit of humanity.”
In addition to detailing Dr. Fausto’s nerve grafting technique, Acontece Magazine also acknowledged the doctor’s recent speaking engagement and appearance at the 24th Congress of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) in the Miami Beach Convention Center; the first location where his medical breakthrough was revealed.
A nerve graft is a surgical technique in which a segment of unrelated nerve is used to replace or bridge an injured portion of the nerve. Injection therapy and the implementation of the vacuum device are some of the previous techniques surgeons have used in treating prostate related erectile dysfunction. Dr. Fausto’s discovery of the nerve grafting technique marks the beginning of a new procedure to help a patient live a better life.
Acontece Magazine is a Brazilian publication with a global reach and has a large readership of South Florida residents. They publish a tremendous amount of content in entertainment and tourism, and Dr. Fausto is extremely honored in the publication’s recognition of his work.
